Top 10 states for afterschool

Description:
The researchers of the America After 3PM project rate 10 states for child participation and parental satisfaction with afterschool programs. Ratings are based on figures from each state representing the total percentage of children in afterschool programs, percentage of low-income children in afterschool programs, percentage of children in self-care, the average amount of time-per-week spent in child care, and several measures of parental satisfaction with afterschool programs. Featured states are California, the District of Columbia, Florida, Vermont, Massachusetts, Arizona, Oregon, Nebraska, Tennessee, and Hawaii. In addition to rankings, short overviews are provided of each featured state's afterschool initiatives and sources of funding.
