This report is not intended to serve as a formal evaluation of the 2013 One City Summer Initiative. Rather, it seeks to document the how's, what's, when's and why's of the planning and implementation processes and to synthesize organizers' reflections on the successes and challenges along the way. The ultimate goal of this report is to share some of the "lessons learned" with colleagues in different cities across the U.S. and to inform the continuous improvement of the One City Youth Initiative, the year-round expansion of OCSI set to begin in 2014.
