A 50-item multiple-choice instrument is described which assesses verbal understanding of basic behavioral principles as they are applied to children. The instrument appears to possess satisfactory content validity for such basic principles and good internal consistency. It appears useful for research and educational assessment purposes where a general measure of this type of knowledge is needed. (author abstract)
