The oral and written testimonies from 18 Tribal Lead Agencies were synthesized into the topics below by taking detailed notes from the consultation sessions and categorizing the comments into the relevant RFI topics. Some comments or suggestions were listed in multiple categories if concerns or suggestions overlapped, and any topics that did not fall into one of the RFI categories were included in “Other.” Each section discusses concerns, questions, and suggestions raised by tribes during consultation and provides clarification on CCDF requirements as needed. It is important to note that some recommendations would require statutory changes and, thus, are beyond the Administration’s authority. More in-depth responses to Tribal feedback on the RFI, as well as clarifications on federal authority and limitations, will be forthcoming this year. (author abstract)
