Description:
Five examples of policy-related research are addressed in this chapter. The first is research conducted to determine the causal relationship between services and outcomes. The second will look at exploratory efforts to describe the range of ways that services may be delivered and the congruence with guiding policy. The third example will examine how existing data sets (U.S. Census and state data) may be used to better understand the distribution or sufficiency of services. The fourth example is based on a survey of parent perceptions, and the fifth is based on multiple methods. (author abstract)
