Promoting social and emotional learning in preschool: Programs and practices that work

This brief summarizes what is known about effective preschool social-emotional learning (SEL) programs and practices based on high-quality, rigorous research studies that utilized randomized controlled designs. These studies demonstrate that evidence-based SEL programming produces positive impacts on children's development of SE skills, enhancing their learning engagement, interpersonal relationships, behavioral adjustment, and school success.
