Description:
This report provides a summary of findings based on program data for the Illinois Early Childhood Prevention Initiative Program, which offers coordinated services to at-risk children below three years of age and their families. Three data-collection instruments were designed to capture the following data from fiscal years 2010 and 2011: characteristics of parents/families and children served; prevention initiative projects; program models, workshops, and resources; types of services delivered; collaborations; unmet service needs; and parent survey responses. The number of children served has increased to 21,366 (FY2010) from 1,604 (FY1993), however, more than 3,000 parents were on the waiting list to receive early childhood services during the years currently reported.
