Description:
By summer 2020, Noggin and its nonprofit partner, Sparkler Learning, engaged with AppleTree, which had never previously used children’s media in its evidence-based instructional model. All three organizations were grappling with relationship and learning challenges as pandemic disruptions and uncertainties dominated planning for the new school year. Regular teaching delivered online was insufficient, and high-quality children’s media, disconnected from curriculum, seemed unlikely to have a positive effect on learning. What emerged from this collaboration was Ready Grow, a mobile, interactive, and adaptive “hybrid learning model” that leverages technology and quality children’s media to meet the rapidly evolving needs of children, families, and educators disrupted by COVID-19.
