The economic impacts of insufficient child care on working families

Description:
Many working families do not have access to the child care they need when their children are very young. This is especially true for the 11 million working parents of child aged under 3. Using new survey data and economic analysis, we calculate substantial economic losses when families of children aged under 3 do not have adequate child care. These families report lower time at work, less productive work, and diminished career opportunities. (author abstract)
