This issue brief addresses access to early child care and education in Utah. It analyzes Utah's current child care system and its capacity. It also provides an overview of the needs of the system to address the issue of access. To the extent possible, the analysis incorporates preferences of families with regard to the settings in which families prefer their young children to receive care. The brief concludes with a set of policy considerations for Utah in addressing these challenges. (author abstract)
