Description:
After-school and out-of-school time (ASOST) learning opportunities are available to some, but not all, Massachusetts students who could benefit from such programs. This report surveys the child population and existing ASOST programs in Massachusetts. It explores public and private funding mechanisms for these programs. It also identifies the potential for these programs to benefit the children of Massachusetts, such as in improving the Commonwealth's 4th grade reading scores.
