Colorado Shines quality rating and improvement system: Level 1 provider survey report [Executive summary]

Description:
This report presents findings from surveys sent to registered and unregistered Level 1 early childhood care and education providers. Providers are designated as Level 1 if they comply with Colorado's licensing standards. When they register on the Colorado Shines website, they are considered a "registered" provider. Unregistered providers have not further engaged with the Colorado Shines system. The goal of this report is to learn more about Level 1 programs and providers, and their awareness of and intentions to participate in Colorado Shines at a higher rating level; and to compare the differences between program type (child care center versus family child care home) and registration status (registered versus unregistered). The survey results can help the Colorado Office of Early Childhood (OEC) develop action steps for recruitment and outreach to these providers. (author abstract)
