Future directions for early childhood teacher education

Description:
This final chapter serves as a synthesis of what we have learned from the chapter authors about the diversities, complexities, strengths, and challenges of ECTE, as well as a vehicle for highlighting the enduring questions for research and practice that have emerged for the field. In this chapter, we articulate what is needed to solidify and enrich ECTE to harness our strengths and further legitimize the field as a distinct area within teacher education, and to push the field forward to deepen and apply our knowledge and understanding.
