How Statewide Afterschool Networks increase investment in afterschool

Description:
This paper describes how Statewide Afterschool Networks (SANs) and other state leaders provide leadership and support across their states to increase investment in afterschool, summer, and expanded learning programs so that more children and youth have access to such services and can develop the skills needed for success. The paper discusses strategies, challenges, and opportunities for states and statewide intermediaries to encourage more coordination of funding, build public will and support of afterschool, use existing funding efficiently, and improve quality and access.
