Impact of increase in minimum wage on child care industry

Description:
As of January 2014, the minimum wage in New Jersey has been increased from $7.25 to $8.25 per hour. Since a large number of child care centers employ staff at or close to the minimum wage, it is anticipated that expenses for child care programs will increase as a result. In order to determine the potential impact this increase will have on NJ's child care industry, the NJ Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies, conducted an online survey of child care directors throughout the state.
