This resource describes a diverse selection of state policy efforts to support the needs of infants and toddlers. Included are descriptions of efforts to enhance collaborative planning and governance structures, promote coordination across services, implement a cross-sector professional development system, include a focus on infants and toddlers in quality rating and improvement systems, embed a maternal and child mental health system, embed a developmental approach into the child welfare system, coordinate funding streams, and promote the inclusion of infant-toddler health, development, and well-being indicators in lists of desired outcomes for states.
