Macro and Proximal Demographic Risks in Diverse Families: Factors Predicting Early Head Start Utilization and Child Outcomes

Description:
The project goals are to understand how to improve Early Head Start (EHS) utilization, how to enhance program supports for vulnerable families, and ultimately, how to optimize the socio-emotional development of EHS children. This project addresses these goals by (1) assessing how broadly defined demographic risks impact EHS utilization and the role of family-center relationship quality on this association; (2) assessing how broadly defined demographic risks predict socio-emotional problems in children from immigrant families; and (3) exploring the direct and indirect relationships among broadly defined demographic risks, family-center relationship quality, EHS utilization, and child outcomes children from immigrant families.
