Early education for dual language learners: Promoting school readiness and early school success [Executive summary]

Description:
This report contributes to the effort to identify the specific features of early childhood education programs that most effectively support DLLs. It offers a profile of DLLs, who are identified as children learning more than one language at the same time. Most (but not all) DLLs are children of immigrants, and parental language proficiency is one of the many factors that influences their developmental and academic outcomes. (author abstract)
