10 fundamentals of coordinated state early care and education data systems: Inaugural state analysis

Resource Type: Fact Sheets & Briefs
Author(s): Early Childhood Data Collaborative;
Date Issued: March, 2011
Publisher(s): Early Childhood Data Collaborative
Description: This brief presents highlights of an analysis of a survey of 48 states and the District of Columbia on state implementation of ten essential components of coordinated early care and education (ECE) data systems. Suggestions are offered in response to the finding that current systems, though they collect large amounts of data on children, providers, and program sites, are often inadequate for the needs of state ECE policymakers in assessing data and formulating policy.
