Language-rich early childhood classroom: Simple but powerful beginnings

Description:
Noting the importance of language-rich learning environments in supporting language learning, this examination focuses on story circles as an activity that supports language use and literacy-focused language development. In addition to describing story circles, the author looks at four specialized ways in which language is used in storytelling and five ways in which children interact in story circles, providing examples from a larger study for each.
