This glossary presents a list of terminology and definitions used to discuss state support, regulation, and involvement in early care and education services in the State of Oregon. Interspersed with Oregon-specific terms are terms which are both used nationally and within Oregon. The glossary aims to increase understanding of early learning in Oregon by providing easy access to the terminology used in the Early Learning sector. The goal is that legislators and their staff, Early Learning Hub partners, members of the media, and any person who wants to understand Early Learning are not challenged by the use of unfamiliar terms.
