Year 1 focus group summary: Evaluation of Quality Counts

Description:
As part of the evaluation of Quality Counts, FPG Child Development Institute and its subcontractor in the first year of the evaluation, University of Miami Education Evaluation Team (UMEET), convened three focus groups (one in Spanish, two in English) with child care directors and family child care providers whose programs were participating in Quality Counts. FPG had primary responsibility for developing the focus group interview guide and protocol and attended two of the three sessions. UMEET had primary responsibility for coordinating and leading the focus groups and transcribing the sessions (English only). The purpose of the focus groups was to gather center directors' and family child care providers' perceptions of Quality Counts, including their views on quality definitions, supports offered, and overall satisfaction with the system.
