As a voice for the early education workforce, the Bessie Tartt Wilson Initiative for Children (BTWIC) has focused on educator compensation as a core issue affecting the quality of early education in Massachusetts. One of its key initiatives has been the development of a career ladder for the early education field. This report summarizes BTWIC's work on the career ladder and the related analysis of salary levels in the state. (author abstract)
