Exploring the Second Shift: A Data-Driven Learning Guide (The Five Hundred Family Study)

Description:
The goal of this module is to explore the influence of gender roles and attitudes about work and family on the household division of labor and childcare responsibilities. Crosstabulation and comparison of means will be used. Data for this analysis come from the 500 Family Study. This data collection contains information examining how middle class, dual-career families make investments in time and resources, how these choices are made, the effects these investments have on the quality of relationships in the household, and the resulting socialization of school-age children and adolescents.
