Social support and the working hours of employed mothers in Europe: The relevance of the state, the workplace, and the family

A study of the relationship between the number of paid working hours of employed mothers and both policies that facilitate dual-earner families such as availability of publicly funded child care and parental leave arrangements and policies that support traditional families or one-and-a-half-earner families that include child benefits, the availability of part-time employment and a supportive workplace, based on data from 3,036 women in paid employment with children living at home in 23 countries in Europe from the European Social Survey and and information about state policies from other sources
