The National Association for Family Child Care recently published a brief highlighting family child care (FCC) leadership as a key lever to address child care challenges across the county. This brief builds on the need to expand and support FCC programs as sustainable, high-quality child care options for families with young children by highlighting the role of FCC leadership. It highlights the current state of FCC-led organizations, including data from a recent survey of FCC leaders, key National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) offerings, and profiles of FCC leaders. Finally, the brief summarizes recommendations for legislators, state child care leaders, and other stakeholders to expand and sustain strong FCC programs. (author abstract)
